Program 2017
Within its 7th edition, Piano Extravaganza Festival will present six piano recitals, two chamber music evenings, two jazz concerts, an “Open doors day” and one documentary on the great Astor Piazzolla. We hope that our extraordinary artists and the variety of the repertoire for those 10 concerts would satisfy even the most sophisticated connoisseur. We would be delighted to welcome you at the wonderful venues of the Central Military Club, the Aula of Sofia University and the National Opera House in Sofia!

September 26, 2017, 21.00 h.: “Das Weltschmerz Duett” – Milen Kukosharov, piano (Bulgaria) and Vesselin Eko Vesselinov, double-bass, (Bulgaria), jazz concert.

September 27, 2017, 19.30 h.: Special Guest of the Festival – Piano recital of Ingolf Wunder (Austria).

September 28, 2017, 19.30 h.: “A Tribute to Nikolai Kapustin” – Piano recital of A Bu (China), celebrating Nikolai Kapustin’s 80th anniversary.

September 29, 2017, 19.30 h.: “In the music world of Eduard Nápravník” – Chamber music concert of Lana Trotovsek, violin (Slovenia), Daniela Dimova, soprano (Bulgaria) and Ludmil Angelov, piano (Bulgaria).

September 30, 2017, 19.30 h.: Piano recital of the Eloisa Cascio (Italy).

October 1, 2017, from 10.00 to 19.00 h.: “Open doors day” – free entrance for children and adults, with a program of piano classes, talks about music, piano and education. As well, the unique opportunity for all music lovers to have a close look at the new Concert Grand YAMAHA CFX Piano and to enjoy performances of young talented pianists. The event is supported by “Virtuoso Piano Society”.

October 3, 2017, 19.30h.: Recital of the pianist & composer Vyacheslav Gryaznov, (Russia).

October 5, 2017, 18.00 h.: Bulgarian premiere of the Argentinian documentary “Sintiendo a Piazzolla” about the life and work of the great Astor Piazzolla. In collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Argentina.
CLOSING CONCERT OF THE FESTIVAL, AT THE SOFIA OPERA AND BALLET HOUSE:
October 6, 2017, 19.00 h.: Chamber music concert of Vesselina Kasarova, mezzo-soprano (Bulgaria) and Ludmil Angelov, piano (Bulgaria). Co-production with Sofia Opera and Ballet.
